About Ohmium
Ohmium designs, manufactures, and deploys modular, scalable Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzers that enable cost-competitive green hydrogen production. The company’s suite of electrochemical products helps customers achieve their sustainable energy goals across various industrial, transportation, and energy projects. Headquartered in the United States with manufacturing facilities in India and operations worldwide, Ohmium has a global green hydrogen project pipeline exceeding 2 GW across three continents.
The Challenge
As part of their commitment to global climate action, Ohmium aimed to create a decarbonization plan. While they had measured Scope 1 and 2 emissions internally, this was their first time measuring Scope 3 emissions. Ohmium selected Terrascope to help create and execute an accurate and actionable measurement plan for all scopes and identify decarbonization strategies.

The Terrascope Solution
Terrascope was selected by Ohmium to provide guidance on measuring their key carbon emission areas and developing an executable plan to reduce them.
The collaboration focused on two key areas:
01. Comprehensive Carbon Footprint Measurement
Terrascope comprehensively assessed Ohmium's Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, closing data gaps and establishing a baseline for decarbonization in 15 weeks. Through Terrascope’s analysis, Ohmium confirmed that their Scope 1 and 2 emissions were minimal, primarily resulting from diesel consumption in fleets and grid electricity usage. Scope 3 emissions represented a significant opportunity for impact, comprising over 98% of Ohmium’s total carbon footprint.
02. SBTi Target-Setting Workshops
Terrascope conducted three collaborative workshops to build stakeholder awareness around the SBTi frameworks, guiding Ohmium in the development, evaluation, and prioritization of decarbonization strategies aligned with these climate initiatives.
Working closely with Terrascope, the Ohmium team created time-bound action plans to reduce Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions — assessing each strategy’s feasibility, alignment with business goals, and investment requirements. Key initiatives for Scope 1 and 2 included electrifying vehicle fleets and transitioning facilities to renewable electricity. Tackling Scope 3 emissions proved more complex, with strategies focused on improving product energy efficiency, sourcing recycled materials, and launching circular economy programs.
Terrascope supported this process with a marginal abatement cost curve (MACC), helping identify the most impactful and cost-effective actions for decarbonization, enabling Ohmium to effectively prioritize its efforts.
